SNMP Proxy Forwarder is a multilingual SNMP application which
translates SNMPV3 requests for SNMPv1/v2c agents. Basically,
it converts all incoming SNMPv3 requests from the manager
to a SNMPv1/v2c request based on the agent type. It then forwards
this request to the appropriate agent and gets the response.
The response is reconstructed as SNMPv3 response and sent
back to the manager.
The SNMP Proxy Forwarder application supports multiple SNMPv3
mangers to communicate with multiple SNMPv1/v2c agents. In
such situations, requests from a manager is routed to the
appropriate agent and the received response is again given
to the same manager.
Working with SNMP Proxy Forwarder
To see how it works, the Proxy Forwarder application should
first be configured before it is run. The following tables
contain information about routing, user security, and access
permissions.

USMUserTable
Vacm tables
All these configuration details can be given using the Proxy
Forwarder Configuration tool bundled in the product.
