MDM - APNs Not Reachable from iOS Device due to 5223 Port Block

Problem

You are trying to enroll an iOS device and you get the error message "APNs Not Reachable from iOS Device due to 5223 Port Block".

Cause

This could happen due to the following reason:

When the TCP Port 5223 is blocked on the device, the mobile device is unable to communicate with the APNs server and receive notifications, even when connected over Wifi.

Resolution

Ensure that TCP Port 5223 is open on the device, for the mobile device to reach the APNs. For a quick scan to know the status of ports on an iOS mobile device, you can download and use iOS Apps such as "Port Scan". Check if the device is able to reach APNs server, by testing the connection to '1-courier.push.apple.com' in the Port Scan App and find if the Port 5223 is open on the device. To know more, please refer this.
