MPLS Discovery
The WebNMS MPLS Accelerator pack offers a powerful discovery process to easily discover the physical, data, network, and transport layers present in the MPLS network. The system can automatically discover layer 3 entities such as LER and LSR, MPLS enabled interfaces, layer 2 or layer 3 connections between them such as pseudowires, label switch path etc. Service layer entities such as VPN, pseudowire, QoS policy, and their logical entities are also discovered automatically. The solution is highly customizable with provision to include any additional property of the device or network in the discovery process. The hop connectivity discovered helps to generate the layer 2 connectivity present between routers in the network. Whenever, there is configuration change in MPLS network, the discovery process is triggered to ensure that the data displayed is always in sync with that of the network.
The discovered devices can be arranged in any desired pattern for easy viewing in the client's map view. The VPN topology can be represented in the Hub-and-Spoke, Full-Mesh etc. The map view can be customized further to display focussed view of the service level, network layer, and physical devices such as PEs (Provider Edge Routers) or LSRs.

The WebNMS MPLS Accelerator pack delivers the FCAPS functionality in the most efficient manner. It supports MPLS backbone network infrastructure monitoring through status polling of MPLS network devices with provision for standard traps based notifications from MPLS devices. The solution triggers propagation of fault from physical layer to service layer, and simultaneous update of the map view of indication of failures. This provides insights into the near-real time identification of its effect on services. The WebNMS MPLS pack performs continuous performance metric collection to enable performance report generation and SLA adherence.
