Network Management Solution WebNMS Offers SOAP Mediation for OSS
B/OSS Live! Conference, Booth 325, Washington DC, June 15, 2011—WebNMS, the preferred EMS and NMS framework for service providers, announced today its mediation solution to address the needs of the OSS market. Acting as a protocol mediation solution, WebNMS enables multiple, disparate protocols to seamlessly “speak” to one another while acting as a single repository EMS for billing, service activation, reporting and customer support.
Today, OSS providers face the daunting challenge of managing hundreds or thousands of individual elements and their respective management systems across a host of disparate vendors and protocols. For OSS systems to function at their highest performance levels and communicate between EMS and NMS systems, WebNMS can mediate SNMP, TL1, SOAP, JMX and even CORBA in legacy systems as northbound interfaces. By acting as a protocol mediator, WebNMS enables network architects and operators to effectively monitor and control their network, while reducing overall complexity.
"WebNMS has taken the fundamentals of exceptional EMS and NMS systems and applied them to the critical needs of OSS system integration," said Eric Wegner, business development manager, ZOHO Corporation. "By creating a common protocol 'translator' between EMS and OSS systems, we are helping service providers move data to and from their OSS system at a fraction of the implementation time and costs."
By mediating between the OSS and the EMS and NMS systems, network architects and operators can now add support without disrupting or changing the OSS. WebNMS estimates an 80% cost saving by utilizing this approach, in which WebNMS collects, consolidates and stores data from network elements and exposes and reports data upon request.
Architectural diagrams of the OSS/WebNMS relationship are available online at: http://www.webnms.com/northboundinterfaces.html and on demand demos of WebNMS are taking place at Booth 325 at B/OSS Live Conference, June 15-17, 2011.
