AdventNet Web NMS Powers Management of Core Optical Transport
Systems for OptiMight
Pleasanton, CA -- July 17, 2001
AdventNet, Inc. announced the incorporation of its Web NMSTM
management platform by OptiMight, Inc. in its OptiWareTM
EMS software that is used to manage a network of state-of-the-art
core optical transport systems, the OMC 1600TM.
AdventNet is the leading provider of out-of-the-box, multi-protocol,
carrier-grade solutions that are massively scalable for provisioning
and management of infrastructure and applications in optical
and other domains. The AdventNet Web NMS platform, adopted
by industry leaders, offers unparalleled productivity and
time-to-market benefits in building element, network and service
management solutions. A relentless focus on customer care
and partnering is a widely acclaimed hallmark of the AdventNet
culture.
"We are pleased that we are the partner of choice for
OptiMight in developing their management solution. AdventNet's
commitment to providing innovative products and superior partnering
has enabled the Web NMS to be chosen as the management platform
by the leading lights of the optical community. We are indeed
driven by the business needs of our customers," said
Dr. Sridhar Vembu, CEO of AdventNet.
AdventNet Web NMS facilitated OptiMight in rapidly building
key functionality such as fault management, security management,
upload/download, software management, performance management,
configuration management, and provisioning & planning.
A user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) gives access
to operations, administration, maintenance and provisioning
(OAM&P) functions and provides a point-and-click environment
for rapid provisioning. A northbound CORBA/TL1 interface is
provided for communication with a higher operating system.
"In AdventNet, we found a powerful technology partner
in delivering our own innovative product platform. The commitment
that AdventNet showed in the successful development of our
product is a powerful catalyst, in part, allowing us to achieve
general availability of the OMC 1600 by Q4, 2001" said
Karl Ma, Director of Product Development, at Optimight.
