DVTel Selects AdventNet For Security Surveillance Network
Management
Pleasanton, California, April 28, 2003
AdventNet Inc., (Booth 6742 at Networld+Interop 2003 in Las
Vegas, NV), the leading provider of carrier class network
management platforms and tools, and DVTel Inc., the leader
in delivering integrated IP security solutions for surveillance
and monitoring of assets and facilities, today announced a
strategic partnership agreement. Using the AdventNet Web NMS
platform, DVTel will provide advanced network management capabilities
for DVTel's powerful security surveillance technology.
DVTel's technology transforms stand-alone security systems,
including a digital video recorder, video matrix switch, and
video multiplexer, into a full-featured, enterprise-wide Network
Video Recorder System (NVRS) that functions as an integration
platform for these mission-critical security systems. The
DVTel SecureLink system allows for these systems to be available
anywhere there is an existing phone line or Ethernet connection
and creates a single optimized, secure network for all of
the enterprise's security needs.
AdventNet's Web NMS is the platform of choice for implementing
EMS/NMS applications. With over 100 customers among diverse
domains, it is a mature and proven platform. Web NMS offers
multi-tier value to customers. It bundles state-of-the-art
developer tools to accelerate time to deployment. Second,
it offers easy integration into existing infrastructure through
open interfaces. Finally, it allows customers to focus on
their domain specific issues by providing comprehensive management
functionality out-of-the-box that can be easily customized
to business specific needs.
"DVTel's SecureLink system and technology will add comprehensive
network management using Web NMS, and will help DVTel customers
manage their cost of ownership and increase ROI to enterprises"
said Paul Smith COO of DVTel. "Network management is
an integral part of our overall security solution and provides
powerful capabilities to our customers to manage their existing
security infrastructure at tremendous savings compared to
any other alternative."
DVTel set out to find a platform that would deliver the suite
of features that the DVTel network-based video surveillance
system requires and that the Security Industry expects. The
AdventNet Web NMS platform was the best choice. It delivers
more of the features needed right out of the box, and it provides
an easy to extend platform which allows updates to be added
so that DVTel can continue to satisfy the Security Industry
needs.
The DVTel NetSCAN NMS, based on the AdventNet platform, will
monitor the health of IP based video network equipment. The
system will automatically discover new elements such as cameras,
video recording and management computer servers, access control
systems and more which have been added to the network and
automatically configures the elements for operation within
the DVTel Security network.
Sridhar Vembu, CEO at AdventNet, said "AdventNet is
excited about our first application within the Security Industry,
allowing us to move our mature platform to this important
application domain."

DVTel bridges the gap between security systems and the network
by offering a full-featured, enterprise-wide Network Video
Recorder System (NVRS) that functions as an integration platform
for several mission-critical security systems. The NVRS Platform
incorporates the most sought after features of three best-in-class
hardware systems--Digital Video Recorder (DVR), video matrix
switching system, and video multiplexer--into one software
based system. The NVRS Platform is based on a distributed
architecture, which allows the end user to leverage existing
networking infrastructure while eliminating the need for multiple,
costly wiring sets. With the DVTel platform there is no need
for coax for video transmission, 4-wire for PTZ, 2-wire for
access control, 4-wire for intercom, or 2-wire for alarm input
and output control signals. All five sets of signals are carried
over a standard Ethernet connection or a single twisted pair
telephone line.
DVTel doesn't stop there. The NVRS platform forms the core
of DVTel's total Security Information Management System--an
integrated surveillance system, which organizes access control
data, facility management system status, emergency procedure
documents, and active maps that pinpoint security equipment
location, onto one user/operator display. The Paramus, NJ-based
company is privately held, with offices in the UK and Israel.
