Bulk remote mailbox creation is impossible with native tools and incredibly complex with PowerShell. ADManager Plus, however, offers a much simpler GUI-based alternative. You can create remote mailboxes in Exchange Server 2010, 2013, and 2016, while provisioning new AD accounts for users individually, as well as in bulk. All you need to do is configure the remote routing address during user account creation, and you're all set.
ADManager Plus lets you add remote mailboxes in bulk by applying a user creation template while importing the CSV file that contains the attribute values required for user creationall you have to do is either mention the template's name in the CSV file or select the template from the UI. You can also save common or standard attribute values in the template and create multiple users at once. The remote routing address can be configured in the template in many formats, including the following:
ADManager Plus even lets you create your own naming format. When a template with a defined remote routing address format is used to create new users, the created users will all have remote mailboxes configured.
User details including name, container, and more can be easily imported from a CSV file. These details are used to create AD accounts for all specified users, while their remote mailboxes are created as per the format specified in the template. This saves a lot of time and effort that would be otherwise spent manually updating values for each user's remote routing address.
Help desk delegation lets you securely task help desk technicians or non-administrative users with creating remote mailboxes, without raising their Active Directory permissions. You can control this delegation by using templates to ensure the remote mailboxes are only created in the approved format. So, the ultimate control lies with the administrators, and the delegates can only perform assigned tasks according to the rules and conditions established.
With ADManager Plus, you can configure all Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, and Skype for Business (Lync 2015) attributes during user account creation. Since the solution offers a plethora of other extremely useful features including predefined reporting, your IT management will never be the same (and that's a good thing).
