Import data to Active Directory

Sometimes, organizations enroll a large number of employees, interns, or students at the same time. Adding each of them individually in Active Directory is exhausting, error-prone, and cumbersome, and using PowerShell for bulk AD account provisioning is too complicated to have any practical usage. With ADManager Plus, you can import multiple users' attribute values from a CSV file and create their AD user accounts in just a few clicks.

Besides user creation, you can use the CSV import option to create and modify other AD objects. What's more, you can standardize and streamline CSV-based creation and modification with templates.

You can even configure users' AD and Exchange attributes with the same CSV file. The CSV import option is also available for Office 365 license management, making it possible for you to assign, remove, or replace Office 365 licenses in bulk. Moreover, you can also use it to specify the objects there should be reports generated for and the objects on which automated AD tasks should be performed.

Create and modify AD objects

The following Active Directory objects can be created and modified in bulk with ADManager Plus' CSV import option:

• Users
• Computers
• Groups
• Contacts
• Organizational units

Using a single CSV file, you can do a lot more than simply creating or modifying an object with standard attributes. You can:

• Specify the organizational unit in which you want the object to be located.
• Configure Exchange attributes at the same time as AD attributes.
• Configure properties such as terminal services, contact attributes, and more.

While importing the CSV data, you can also:

• Select the attributes used to locate objects in AD and the attributes to be modified (among the ones listed in the CSV file) during modification.
• Choose whether to append or overwrite multi-valued attributes during modification. You can also choose whether or not to clear the attribute's value in AD if its value in the CSV file is empty.
• Preview the objects' attribute values before performing management. You can modify desired attributes even after they have been imported to ensure that the objects are created or modified as needed.

Automate AD tasks

ADManager Plus' CSV import option also enhances other important ADManager Plus features, such as automation. Use a predefined report or CSV file to specify the objects on which particular AD tasks (such as AD cleanup and user provisioning) should be automatically executed. Generate reports

Generate reports that list all details of the users or computers specified in a CSV file. While ADManager Plus' regular reports list the accounts that meet specific criteria (such as inactive, locked out, or recently modified), the reports generated via CSV import display every detail of the objects that you specify in the CSV file. You can also customize the reports to display only required details.

Manage Office 365

With the CSV import option of ADManager Plus, Office 365 license management and user provisioning is easier than ever. Necessary details can be easily imported from a CSV file so you can assign or remove Office 365 licenses in bulk. You can also create user accounts in bulk, in AD and Office 365 simultaneously. Creating the CSV files: It is very easy to create and correctly configure the CSV file. The first line of the CSV file (i.e. the header) should contain the LDAP names of attributes, as defined in Active Directory, and the following lines should have their corresponding values. Example:
